Goals: SHORT TERM v LONG TERM
We can often be deterred from reaching our long term goals because we try to go from A to Z in one step without ever considering any of the steps in between. A long term goal is the major point or destination for what you want to achieve but on the way you must have short term goals. Short term goals are markers to keep you on track and have these things:
1. Have a deadline
2. Are attainable/realistic
3. Push you to be active towards your final goal
By setting yourself up this way it gives you small achievements along the way to reach and allows you to modify your action plan while still being able to focus on the final goal!
I’ll be talking more on this topic soon and also about a few tips on how to set your plan into action!
COST v. RESULTS
I’ve heard every reason to why people stop or never start working towards a goal and it comes up a lot in getting healthier. From it’s too hot/cold to I can’t afford to eat better. I have to give up my personal favorites. I don’t have the time right now or no one wants to help me. What I’ve learned is that some people want to change but can’t afford the helping hand while those that can want it for free or much less than what it’s worth. They believe it’s easy that it has to do with genetics, being active all their life or luck. In actuality it’s about the countless hours of work, not only at the gym or park but in the kitchen. The fine tuning of their lifestyle to help reach their goals and the never ending desire to become better even when others think they are at their best. It can be done by anyone but you can’t look at what it will cost you whether it’s in everyday life, business, or fitness. In order to reach the next level you must pay the cost and it may cost a little, may cost a lot but it will cost you. Be dedicated to get there because it will be worth it!
